Hours before doors or even the concert it’s self, some die hard 5 Seconds of Summer fans lined up waiting to rush to get either right up against the barricade or to their seats as soon as possible. The dedication was real.
After the opening band The Aces got the night started it was time for the moment all the screeching girls have been waiting so long for. This is my third time seeing/photographing these guys, so my expectations were a bit higher than the previous times because it seems they have really matured musically. Their latest record YoundBlood is an absolute Bop, as the kids say nowadays. And those positive opinions of the record are accurate.
Opening up their set with Babylon the fans instantly were screaming and singing at the top of their lungs. Not gonna lie I thought my ear drums were gonna explode by all the screaming. The guys are currently touring in support of their latest record Youngblood. Of course they played a handful of songs off their including If Walls Could Talk, Lie to Me, Why Won’t You Love Me and Talk Fast. Even for these being fairly new the fans had the lyrics down and knew every song word for word. Definitely impressive.
With a few EPs and full length records under their belt they also played a ton of older songs that had fans really going which included She’s Kinda Hot, Amnesia, Jet Black Heart and She Looks So Perfect. I must say the guys have definitely matured musically and I was completely impressed by their set. From the production which was tricky to photograph (but hey the guys still put on one hell of a show) to the fan interaction and just enjoying what they love made the night so special. As the night grew to an end the band ended with their chart topping single Youngblood.
