October 16th 2021: In a new location the All Things Go Festival comes back to the DMV instead of it being in DC like previous years this year was a little different. The ATG festival brought their stellar lineup to Merriweather Post Pavilion.
Doors opened at eleven am, the line of fans from the entrances of the venue all rushed to either the main stage in the pavilion or the Chrysalis Stage in the woods to secure a good spot for their favorite artists. This years lineup was very female fronted artists/bands. And fans were all for it. The only negative thing to impact the festival was the awful downpour in my opinion but it didn’t seem to bother the people in the lawn, they made a huge party out of it.
Now back to the stages, out of all the times I’ve been to Merriweather Post Pavilion I never have seen their stage in the woods and I must say its actually pretty cool. The beauty of this stage was it was surrounded by the untouched nature that this venue is surrounded by.
On this years lineup you had a variety of different artists. Lets focus on the main stage: on the Pavilion Stage you had Jelani Aryeh, Tkay Maidza, Tai Verdes, Soccer Mommy, Beach Bunny, Girl In Red, St Vincent and Haim. Out of all the super incredible acts on the Pavilion Stage I have to highlight two of the acts I was super impressed by: Tai Verdes, the energy this guy brings is contagious. If you were there during his set you would know what im talking about. From the start of his set to the end it was high energy. Tai Verdes even grabbed a mask (safety first) and ran throughout the crowd. It was insane. Another artist I want to highlight is St Vincent. I have been dying to see her live and I finally got to. St Vincent put on one hell of a set and the theatrical aspect of it was amazing.
We only got to catch one act on the Chrysalis stage and that was after the pouring rain. Lauv stole the show and put on an amazing set. Don’t sleep on his music. The full lineup on the Chrysalis stage consisted of Isaac Dunbar, Del Water Gap, Blue Detiger, Role Model, Gus Dapperton, Cautious Clay, Lauv and Charlie XCX.
All Things Go Festival really out did themselves this year with their stellar lineup and we cannot wait to see what they have in store for next year.
