Half Alive brings a vibrant, artful, and thought provoking performance on their Conditions of a Punk Tour. Monday night as they took the Fillmore Silver Spring under their wing, opening the show with the use of a single curtain casting over the stage to project shadow dancing in a variety of ways. Once revealed the audience was treated to a podium like stage divided into three sections. Utilizing this throughout the show gave the crowd a sense of separation drawing your attention to different aspects of the performance. At times it felt more than a concert with sequences of strong choreography and outfit changes throughout the night, Half Alive put their storytelling on full display. Every moment is well crafted and thought out to provide an immersive experience. Fans were treated to a nearly two-hour set that dove deep into their discography. A strong performance boosted with a special appearance by Tessa Violet (opener of the show) to perform the song “Never Been Better” complete with a fun rendition of Phil Collins “Stranger Like Me”. This show featured everything and begged the question why they were performing at a venue this size because they made the Fillmore feel as if it could fit thousands. Make sure to check out their setlist and keep an eye out for the next time they come through! Full setlist from half•alive
