We recently had the privilege of covering KAABOO Del Mar down in the San Diego area. Now in its second year, KAABOO put its name forth this year with some big name artists: Aerosmith, Jimmy Buffett, Fall Out Boy, Hall and Oates, and Lenny Kravitz to name a few.
Taking place at Del Mar Fairgrounds, the festival featured two large stages, a few medium sized stages, an indoor venue for late night DJ sets, and a comedy theater. There was also enough food and drink vendors to keep you busy all three days! While not sold out, Saturday proved to be the busiest of the three days with major acts of Aerosmith and The Chainsmokers both performing at the same time, and a Ludacris set that hit capacity!
The weather was picture perfect San Diego, warm and sunny with just a hint of a breeze. It was fun to see some of our previously covered artists like Fall Out Boy, Rooney and Echosmith. Andrew McMahon and the Wilderness was also a nice ode to nostalgia! Then there were the familiar artists that are finally making their way to The Vinyl such as Lenny Kravitz and Gavin DeGraw. It was a crazy busy weekend and we cannot thank the entire KAABOO crew for going out of their way to make all of us media folks feel welcomed and pampered.
