Flashback to back when I was in middle school at the age of nine, at full blast on my iPod nano the only record that was on a continuous loop was All We Know is Falling by Paramore. Of course there were the occasional early 2000’s hiphop songs that I didn’t know the meaning of thrown into the mix, but I was an emo kid at heart.
As I grew older, and the band did too, they got me through the hardest and lowest times in my life. Fast forward 18 years, and 7 photo pass denials later I finally got a chance to get them in front of my lens.
Roughly around 9 p.m. Paramore took the stage, an intro video to kicked things off and as the band took the stage (also note it was darkly lit) the fans noticed movement from the stage and instantly grew into an ear piercing mixture of screams and cheers. Paramore opened up with You First, a song from their latest record. The band decided to spice things up and get those confetti cannon fired up in the first song of the night, so that automatically sets the tone for the night, that it is going to a night full of nostalgia, love and memories.
Front woman Hayley Williams looked so incredibly confident as she ran around from one side of the stage to the other in between all the leg kicks, jumping and twirling around. The band also sounded absolutely incredible. The overall confidence of this band was stronger than ever and the energy throughout the night was impeccable.
Paramore gave their fans a night to remember by giving them a twenty song setlist that consisted of newer material such as The News, Running Out of Time and Liar. Also in the setlist was a lot of their older material to put us all in our feels such as Playing God, That’s What You Get and Decode. Also in the mix was Crystal Clear, a song from Hayley Williams’ solo project and a cover song of Zac Farro’s band HalfNoise, called Baby. You can check out the full setlist from this tour stop here.
As the night started coming to an end, it wouldn’t be a Paramore show without them inviting a fan from the crowd to join them on stage to perform Misery Business. So they did just that before moving onto the last song of the setlist, Aint It Fun.
Just when you thought the night was officially over, on the giant led screen in the background played an This Is Why montage, the band then came back to perform an two song encore. Not sure when the fans were at their loudest…at the beginning or when the band came back on stage. Paramore closed out the night with Still Into You and This is Why.
Paramore is made up of Hayley Williams, Taylor York and Zac Farro whom has over the years have released six studio records, and is currently touring on their most recent record This is Why. If you get a chance to attend this show as a fan or media it is HIGHLY suggested. The energy from both the band and the fans and the overall concert is incredible.
