Currently on his solo tour, supporting his solo record, Marcus Mumford makes a stop at the beautiful The Anthem in Washington D.C.
You may know him from the band called Mumford & Sons, but currently on a solo tour Marcus Mumford slows things down a bit for a more intimate night of music supporting his self-titled record. Roughly after 9pm Mumford took the stage solo with a guitar in hand and opened up his twelve song set with Mumford & Sons songs, Awake My Soul and The Cave.
Now it was a slow start before his backing band then joined him for the next set of songs, all being from his self-titled record. The night was relaxing and very enjoyable. The fans enjoyed this side of Mumford. The songs he played off his solo album included Cannibal, Prior Warning, Dangerous Game and ended the set with How. Of course hey played a few more in between.
After the set ended the fans wanted more, so Mumford then returned to the stage to play a five song encore which included another popular Mumford & Sons song, I Will Wait. He also performed a few cover songs with opening act, The A’s. Those cover songs included Taylor Swift’s Cowboy Like Me and The New Basement Tapes song Kansas City. Mumford also covered Bob Dylan’s Not Dark Yet as part of his encore. Check out Marcus Mumfords full setlist below:
