Excitement and anticipation is what filled the sold out room at the 9:30 Club in Washington DC as fans waited for Raye. Before Raye commanded the stage, her sister Absolutely warmed up the crowd with her exceptional musical stylings. The sold-out show featured Raye performing her debut album, My 21st Century Blues.
Raye became an independent artist in 2021 after signing with Polydor Records. The London born singer-songwriter’s performance was full of songs with raw and unfiltered lyrics and her musical talent, reflecting the highs and lows of life. During the concert, Raye was openly honest, continuously thanking fans for their support. Not one to shy away from the tough topics, during her performance of “Body Dysmorphia,” a song about her struggles with her body and in the song “Ice Cream Man,” written about sexual harassment, was another hard-hitting song that resonated with the audience.
