Jason Aldean’s “Rock and Roll Cowboy Tour” rolled into VA Beach on Saturday night for a sold out show at Veterans United Home Loans Amphitheater. Over twenty thousand fans filled the amphitheater to see three-time ACM “Entertainer of the Year” Jason Aldean. This tour features a more scaled down production compared to years past, but one thing that was not lacking was the night’s set list, which was filled with hit after hit.
John Morgan got the evening started taking to the stage at 7:30 and playing a quick opening set as fans made their way into the arena. “Coldest Beer in Town,” “Right In The Middle,” “Good With Goodbye,” all made the nights set list.
ACM’s reigning New Female Artist of the Year, Gabby Barrett went on a little early and played a longer set than normal. The country music singer is touring in support of her debut album Goldmine that was released back in 2020 and hit the number four spot on Billboard’s US Top Country Albums. Gabby kicked her set off with “The Good Ones,” and sprinkled a few covers from Lady A, Dolly Parton, and Journey in the set before wrapping things up with “I Hope” which went six times platinum.
At roughly 9:30 the amphitheater lights dimmed and country superstar Jason Aldean took to the stage with “Lights Come On” as the sold out crowd rose to their feet. Touring in support of his last two releases Macon and Georgia, Jason and crew will crisscross the country for the rest of the summer and into the fall, when the tour wraps up in Wichita, KS on October 29th. With twenty-seven number one singles under his belt, Jason had plenty of material to choose from when putting together his roughly ninety minute set. Plenty of new songs from Macon and Georgia made the night’s set list with “That’s What Tequila Does,” “If I Didn’t Love You,” “Heaven,” and “Trouble with a Heartbreak” all making it into the twenty-three song set. Jason Aldean showed the sold out crowd exactly why he is one of Country music’s elite headliners and why his tours have become legendary status.
In his free time from recording hit Country music, the multi-Platinum singer also founded Wolf Moon Bourbon, an 80 proof bourbon that has been distilled from Midwestern grains and aged for four years offering a finish of caramel, oak and spice. For more information, visit www.JasonAldean.com.
