October 26th 2021: It was a cold and rainy day here in our nations capital, BUT that didn’t stop people from lining up early to secure a good spot on the barricade to see H.E.R. up close and personal. R&B Singer-Songwriter H.E.R. is currently supporting her record Back of My Mind on the Back of My Mind Tour and lets just say this record has been one of my absolute favorite records of 2021. And I’m pretty sure the fans at this sold out show can say the same.
Doors opened and the fans rushed in got situated and it was time for the show. Tonights show consisted of three opening acts before H.E.R. took the stage. First up was Ajanee, with only a solid ten to fifteen minutes on stage she got the crowd in their feels and warmed up. Next was Maeta then currently supporting H.E.R. on this tour is the insanely talented Tone Sith. The ladies absolutely loved him and I can’t definitely see why. His set was high energy. Tone Sith and his background dancers got the crowd to the next level. Not only by the dancing from one side of the stage to the other people really seemed to dig his sound and it was a great opening act choice for this tour.

After three insanely talented opening acts it was time for the queen of the next hour or so. The lights went out and the crowd got into an uproar. The band and background singers took the stage and then H.E.R. took the stage as they opened up the set with a cover of DJ Khalid’s We Going Crazy, a song that H.E.R. is actually featured on. (Side note I am so glad that this song was the opening song because its actually my favorite song right now). H.E.R. treated fans to a pretty solid twenty-four song setlist. Not only did her setlist consist of her own material, there were also several covers thrown in the mix. For example: A few covers she threw in were from artists like Jhene Aiko, Lauryn Hill, Daniel Caesar, Marvin Gaye, Queen, Lenny Kravitz and Foy Vance.
